OWI/DWI (Same Difference)

Writer: Claire EdwardsClaire Edwards

What is a Louisiana DWI ?

The Louisiana Revised Statutes are made by the legislature.  The legislature says that driving while intoxicated is a crime and it occurs when a person operates a motor vehicle while impaired.  Impairment occurs when the driver has a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08%, is taking illegal drugs, is taking prescribed drugs, or any combination of these.  Impairment relies heavily on officer observations at the time of the arrest.
